Toyota rav4 not starting no crank.

Going to assume this is a crank no start. Drive around for about 15 minutes. Shut engine off and then try to start engine, will not start. I do not know the RAV4 well enough to say definitively what the cause can be. 1997 4-door 4-wheel drive 145K manual. My RAV4.1 is running without issue except that it suddenly cuts out (dies) intermittently. It is as if the engine has been switched off. It does set a P0300 code which does clear if you restart the engine 3X. There is no pattern as to when it will die. It does not sputter, run rough, struggle, etc...
